Volleyball is an immensely popular game world wide. It is fun to watch due to its speed and intensity: its relatively small court size allows athletes to participate in a variety of venues. The Sport Medicine Centre actively supports our varsity athletes with medical coverage, and we always like to encourage people to come out and cheer on our own University of Calgary Dinos.
If you are a volleyball coach or player seeking to develop and re-energize your practices, may we suggest looking at The Sport Technology Research Lab here at the University of Calgary, which has created the Interactive Volleyball CD-ROM complete with practices and drills, basics and strategies.
If you would like to review the latest research on sport injury prevention, Sport Injury Prevention Centre and the Cumming School of Medicine are currently focusing on injuries in high intensity sports, including volleyball. Click here and here for more info.
