Friends of Pro Rodeo

Friends of Pro Rodeo is a not-for-profit group of businesses and individuals who believe in the
preservation of our western heritage through the events of rodeo. Funds raised through Friends of Pro Rodeo will be used to develop the entire sport of rodeo in Canada and provide funding in compassionate circumstances where necessary.

Our goal is to increase the audience, sponsorship participation and overall awareness of professional rodeo in Canada. Friends of Pro Rodeo provides passionate, principled and consistent leadership in promoting rodeo and its benefits for both traditional and contemporary audiences. We also work to create a better financial climate for everyone involved in rodeo by raising event prize money, providing professional sports medicine assistance and increasing the salary and security of rodeo athletes. Since Friends of Pro Rodeo was established in 2003, it has helped provide the average rodeo cowboy with both the financial and business resources required to actively pursue their sport. We hope that eventually professional cowboys will be treated with the same respect and given the same advantages and opportunities as other professional athletes. Professional cowboys and cowgirls are the only professional athletes that have to pay to play!
